wife likes it, it was delivered fast! March 4, 2008 Ordered it for my wife, the price was fair, it arrived super fast, and it was in brand new condition. what more could you ask?
Magical and Sexy March 2, 2008 John Legend vocal skills are both magical and sexy. This CD is much better than his first. Only a few of the songs on his first CD were good. Many of the songs on this CD will take you to a feel good place. My favorite is Slow Dance it is both sexy and funky. John Legend is very talented and will be around for many years to come.
Great voice February 29, 2008 I first saw John Legend on a BET gospel special. Be aware if you are a gospel fan that some of these lyrics don't fit into that category! whoa. His vocals and piano are beautiful, though.
He tried something new. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. February 13, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
RB lovers most likely share my personal opinion that John Legend is one of the best musicians to come out in a long time. He has a soulful and strong singing voice and he is a master on the piano. His debut album, "Get Lifted" is an amazing work of art and he is very handsome, too! But, every rose has its thorn, doesn't it? His sophomore album did little to impress me, overall. He tried to do something different while still remaining true to himself (with the soulful singing and piano-inundated songs), but he simply fell short in many places this time around. While all of "Once Again" isn't flawed, most of it is sub-par. br /br /"Show Me" and "Heaven" are two of his biggest missteps. To put it bluntly, these two songs are boring and uninspired. These two mid-tempos should have never left the studio. "Stereo" and "Where Did My Baby Go?" are also lackluster tracks. "Stereo" is one of the few up-tempo tracks on this album, though. The standout track is easily "Another Again." This is the song I gave a full five star rating to. The melody, lyrics, delivery, hook and production are all wonderful and easy to listen to. This mid-tempo song is about a couple who are always at odds with each other, but always seem to make up. If you listen closely, you'll find that these two people actually cannot stay away from each other. Ironically, this happens often in relationships. I also liked "PDA (We Just Don't Care)", "Save Room" and "Coming Home." "PDA" has a great story; the song is about a couple who loves giving each other affection in public and they could care less what those around them think.br /br /As much as I enjoy John Legend at his best, I can't recommend this album because there aren't enough solid tracks. He has one or two standouts, but that definitely is not enough, especially because the prices of compact discs are so exorbitant nowadays.br /br /Mikeisha's Top 5br /br /1."Another Again"br /2."Save Room"br /3."Coming Home"br /4."PDA (We Just Don't Care"br /5."King Queen" (on the Bonus Tracks version only)br /
Blown away! January 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Wow, John Legend really hit it right on this album!!! More sophisticated than his first album, Get Lifted, and less hip hoppy, but just as good if not better!! He seems to have matured a bit and when u here him sing u feel his passion in your gut!!
