I woke up at 7AM to go get this CD and it was worth being tired all day at work. Elliott's voice can bring a grown man to tears. There is not one bad song on this CD. I still wonder how Mr. Yamin did not win American Idol 5. He is the most talented person to come out of the competition. I highly recommend that you get this CD and buy copies for all of your friends. I have really been anticipating this album's release and I was not disappointed. Elliott has such a talent. His twist on RB really does it for me. The singles off this CD are great, but I feel its real strength is some of the other tracks like You are the One, and Trainwreck. He is truly singing from the heart. And he's a gentleman as well! I just got home from an autograph signing in Times Square and he was so polite and genuine. I know this CD is going to do amazing things. Stop reading this and get your copy!! :)

I have been anxiously awaiting this CD as I believe that Elliott has a wonderful, heartfelt way of drawing you into his songs with the emotions that he puts into them. I love the album and can't wait to see him live and in concert!

I have to admit, I tagged Elliott Yamin as a great vocalist the first time I heard him sing on Idol, but I never imagined his first album to be this complete. From front to back, this is a quality set. The ballads are fresh and creatively pieced together, while the mid-tempo stuff is equally as pleasing.br /br /Elliott got a little help from Stargate, who has strung together a number of big hits for Ne-Yo and Rihanna ("So Sick," "Sexy Love," "Unfaithful" to name a few). The Stargate produced tracks -- including his first single "Wait For You" -- are outstanding, but they don't overshadow the surrounding material.br /br /"Trainwreck" is a feel good groove full of smooth, full harmonies. It certainly stands out.. while "I'm the Man" also makes itself an instant highlight. "Find A Way" and "Movin' On" reveal a bit of Elliott's jazzy side, while "You Are the One" and "Take My Breath Away" should satisfy all those looking for soulful balladry.br /br /Overall, this is a very well thought out, written, produced, recorded, and performed set. I have virtually no complaints. The only thing that might be missing is a few more really solid uptempo tracks, but beggers can't be whiners. This is what RB should sound like.
