For me, this was the most anticipated album of the century!!! I never look forward to music like this, but I was such a huge fan from the very beginning audition stages of American Idol season 5. This CD is amazing!!! Way to go Elliot, I am so proud of you and wish you all the success...You deserve it!!! #1 artist in my eyes (and ears)!

There is absolutely nothing about this CD to criticize. The songs are diverse, offering Elliott a chance to show off his vocals to perfection, and there is something for everyone in this collection. What I am enjoying about it the most, however, is that the tracks weave a tapestry, giving the listener an opportunity to feel what Elliott feels on a number of topics. br /br /Elliott is a passionate artist and whether he is singing about love or current events, his passion comes through loud and clear. "Free" gives us a window into his journey to this point in his life and "You are the One" is a compelling love song. "Alright" is a kicky dance tune and "Find a Way" makes a strong statement about the current state of affairs in this country. He tosses in a lick of jazz on "I'm the Man" and gives us some old school soul on "Take my Breath Away." Through it all, Elliott's smooth vocals soar through flawless arrangements and outstanding mixing. br /br /Elliott's fans from Idol should be well-pleased by this outstanding CD, and hopefully, he'll gain a new audience beyond the reaches of the show. Congratulations Elliott, you've got a winner here! br /br /

Have to admit I'm a true Elliott fan! But to tell the truth, I was a little nervous about this Debut Collection. As tiny bits of the songs started appearing on the internet, I like them but wasn't sure if I was going to Love them or not. Well today I bought not only for myself but for a lot of friends and family also! I LOVE IT! I really think that there is a song in this collection for everyone. Just heard from my niece (who I bought a CD for) and she called to say "Is that Elliott?!?! It's really good, I love it"! It kind a tickles me because she wasn't even a fan of Elliott in last years AI :-) I really believe that Elliott is here for the long run! And I among thousands are sooooo glad!

If you came to this page looking for something, i don't think you really need to read this redundant review. br /I'm just stating my opinion coming from my feelings as i hear Elliott's new "baby" his very first album.br /First of all, its still an on going journey for me as each song takes a different direction and it opens up new possibilities in my ears. As with most of Elliott's songs, i tend to love them more and more, the more i hear them. This CD is not an exception to this rule. I can't decide which song is my favorite, and i know enough not to choose a least favorite. As new sounds sink in and get introduced to my ears, as my mind delves into the lyrics, and my heart pumps along with the rhythm, i end up liking each song for different reasons, and all for the same one. They speak to my heart in volumes. Thats what Elliott intended to do. And he gave it enough time to release this powerful emotional album that does exactly that. Speaking to our hearts through music, using sincere words to express love through an album that seems to be a true emotional roller coaster.br /br /Part if his charm, i feel, is that he is not perfect. His songs are not over edited, and it shows. But his voice shines through, and its the same rich and soulful voice you will hear at his concert, with no effects and no gimmicks. Elliott has nothing to hide. Elliott has so much to offer. At a ridiculously low price too!br /br /Still reading? Well snap out of it and give your heart a treat already!br /br /

Elliott Yamin was the class of Season 5. Having said that, he does not fit the mold and I am glad that he did not win. On his own, with strong management, he will have the opportunity to give his current and all those who will become fans much pleasure for many years to come.br /br /My personal favorite on this CD is "I'm The Man". This track really presents the opportunity for his talent/his voice to say "I'm here to stay".
