ONE WORD----AMAZING! March 20, 2007 24 out of 28 found this review helpful
THis is one of the strongest cd's released in years. Elliott was so great on american Idol and this cd shows why. His voice is so soulful, strong, and energetic. I like every single track on this cd. My Favorite track is You are the One, which has definite hit potential.. alright could be a dance floor hit.. Elliott sings with such ease, nothing seems forced.. Here's hoping to great success with this cd, and i think he will get it..THis is just the beginning for the talented elliott yamin!

Best CD This Year! March 20, 2007 13 out of 17 found this review helpful
Great CD! Best one I've gotten so far this year! First album in a long time I could actually listen all the way through--none of the tracks bored me.
A breath of fresh air! March 20, 2007 17 out of 20 found this review helpful
Elliott Yamin's album is a breath of fresh air in today's RB market. The songs are a mix of contemporary RB and some old style RB reminiscent of Stevie Wonder and other great RB artists from the 60s and 70s. The lyrics, half of which Elliott co-wrote, are beautiful and heartfelt, a welcome change from the sex-soaked lyrics of today's RB.
I Don't Know What To Say March 20, 2007 23 out of 40 found this review helpful
I was actually nervous about Elliot's upcoming CD. He has such a rich, manly, soulful voice and I was afraid that this CD would be pop with watered down RB mixed into it. When I heard the first track, "Movin On," I sighed with relief and just knew this CD was going to be off the chain with a straight up soul and RB vibe. But after that song, everything went down hill until the song ended with "A Song For You." The first and the last songs were fine, but everything else is what I feard it be: pop with lukewarm soul. What happend to the soul and RB, Elliot? I've heard clips of Elliot's other performances outside of AI, and his voice sent my mind soaring. I didn't get that same feeling at all from this CD, except from "Movin On" and a "Song For You." With a voice as good as his, I don't know any effort wasn't put in to create some classic, stand out tracks. I'm not saying this is bad, but it could've been much better. For Elliot's next CD, I hope he'll throw it down and do some Neo-Soul.
