DISNEY STRIKES AGAIN! August 24, 2001 The legend of Robin Hood...one of the most cherished stories of all time is brought magically to life as only Disney can do!The spirit of fun and romance abounds as Robin Hood, the swashbuckling hero of Sherwood Forest, and his sidekick,Little John, plot one daring adventure after another!Robin Hood and the lovely Princess Maid Marieen who have fallen in love with one another. But Robin must fight the greedy Prince John, his snake partner Sir Hiss, and the Tax Collector to save the poor people of the town. Complete with wonderful music, enchanting backgrounds, and a great cast of voices. This is a pure Disney classic that will live on forever.
Oh-de-lally!! August 10, 2001 Disney's animated "Robin Hood" remains one of my all-time favorites. From Roger Miller's outstanding musical compositions (Miller is also the voice of Alan A-Dale, the minstrel/rooster) to the marvelous voice casting (e.g., Terry-Thomas as Sir Hiss, the prime minister/snake), this film is a can't miss. The classic tale is told fairly accurately, including the Golden Arrow competition and so on, but in an entertaining fashion that will capture the attention of young and young-at-heart alike. The animal characters are actually well-thought-out (Robin Hood and Maid Marian are foxes, Little John is a bear, Friar Tuck is a badger) and help move the tale along remarkably well. This is a real treat, and should not be missed.
My Favorite Movie of all time June 20, 2001 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
What more is there to say? I'm 37, and Disney's Robin Hood is still my favorite movie ever. I doubt that'll ever change. This movie has it all, good music, humor, suspense, romance and an interesting plot to boot!!pWho says a movie has to have ..., violence and foul language to be amazing? Today's filmmakers could learn a thing or two from Disney's Robin Hood and we would all benefit from it.
DVD brings backa legend May 5, 2001 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
And i'm not just talking about the Character. This movie has made its mark as being one of the best films of all time. Its music is inspirational and up lifting and its characters are unforgetable. THe story line is simple and fun but you never get bored. Looking back at my childhood, i see, top gun, Star wars and ROBIN HOOD! If you dont own this DVD go and buy it, if not for your kids, for yourself... and maid marion... what a fox.... sorry.
The Black Sheep Of Disney Movies April 24, 2001 Robin Hood is unlike any other Disney movie, and that is what makes it so wonderful. Most of the others are layden with over-produced sountracks, and lifeless characters. "Robin Hood" has perhaps the most likeable characters in the history of cartoon cinema, and the soundtrack is a classic. Roger Miller's voice is enthralling in this setting, and the tunes are tasteful and memorable. On the list with Fantasia, Cinderalla, Aladdin and Mary Poppins as the all-time great Disney flicks!
